In the NBA Today - April 29th, 2013

Jed Jacobsohn

Catching up with NBA news.

Will there be a recommendation today regarding the pending sale of the Sacramento Kings? Will we hear about if there is? I feel a bit like we're stuck in Groundhog Day.

Warriors - Nuggets recap - If you haven't tuned into this series you are missing out on some of the most fun to watch basketball I've ever seen. And Stephen Curry was in rare form last night in the 3rd quarter where he was so locked in that it was a shock when he finally missed a near half court shot at the end of the quarter, leaving him with just 22 points in the period.

Spurs - Lakers recap - If you have been sleeping through the playoffs you've missed some of the worst NBA basketball I've seen in this series. Injuries have ravaged the Lakers and I suspect they've been picking up people from down at the YMCA to fill slots on their roster. San Antonio has dominated and enforced their will from beginning to end. It was so frustrating for Dwight Howard that he got himself ejected early in the 3rd period in what many believe was just him trying to save from being embarrassed the remainder of the game.

Heat - Bucks - The Miami Heat continued to impose their will on the Milwaukee Bucks, closing out the series with a sweep. The only news of note in this game was the fact that Heat coach Eric Spoelstra kept Dwyane Wade out of the game to rest his knees that have bothered him all season and were clearly an issue in game 3.

Knicks - Celtics - The Boston Celtics showed it still has a pulse in eking out a win in overtime to keep from being swept out of the playoffs. Carmelo Anthony and the New York Knicks missed out on an opportunity to keep pace with the Miami Heat. The Knicks played without the suspended J.R. Smith who was ejected from game 3 for elbowing Jason Terry.

Congrats to former Sonic Johan Petro and his wife on the birth of a child!

What? You weren't invited? Well, Charlotte Bobcats owner Michael Jordan got married anyhow. Jordan married 35-year-old former model Yvette Prieto on Saturday in Palm Beach, Florida.

Keep it classy OKC - Oklahoma City Thunder ball boy accused of Tweeting death threats to Houston Rockets guard Patrick Beverley.

Jason Collins becomes the NBA's first openly gay athlete.
