Seattle Storm team up with Q13 FOX to air 15 home games this season

New, comment

The Seattle Storm have partnered with Q13FOX to air 15 of their 17 home games this year on JOEtv.

On Thursday morning, the Seattle Storm made a very big announcement with their new partner Q13 FOX.  Starting this upcoming 2016 season, 15 of the 17 home games for the Seattle Storm will air on Q13 FOX's affiliate JOEtv (channel 22/Comcast 110).  This will bring a lot more local support and give fans a chance to watch more games than ever before.  The road games will air either on national TV (ESPN, NBATV) or can be streamed through the WNBA's Live Access program.  Live Access is a streaming service similar to NBA League Pass, but can be purchased at a much more affordable price.  Dick Fain will return as the team's play by play caller and Elise Woodward will join him on Color Commentary.

Seattle Storm President and General Manager Alisha Valavanis had this to say about the new deal, "Q13 FOX and JOEtv have a proven commitment to enhanced coverage of local sports and we are thrilled to add the Storm to a network that already covers the Seahawks and Sounders.  Not only does increased coverage of Seattle Storm basketball benefit our loyal fans but we hope it leads to future generations of Storm fans!  We are very much looking forward to the partnership with Q13 FOX and JOEtv."

Q13 FOX General Manager Pam Pearson added this, "It's a thrill to add another championship team to our roster of local sports partners which include the Seattle Seahawks and Sounders FC.  We are very proud to bring these games to Western Washington's fans of professional basketball and we look forward to an exciting season."

The Storm have a very exciting season upcoming.  Things really kick off next week with the WNBA Draft live from Connecticut on Thursday April 14th at 4:00pm and will air on ESPN2.  The Storm have the #1 overall pick in the draft and it is presumed that they will take UConn Superstar Breanna Stewart; who just finished leading the UConn Huskies to their 4th National Championship in four years.

Here at Storm Chasers, we see this new partnership with Q13 FOX as a great thing for Storm and basketball fans.  Bill Wixey and Aaron Levine of Q13 FOX have both been very supportive of both the Seattle Arena process and the Seattle Storm; with Levine having the Storm in studio for player interviews throughout past seasons.
