All-Star forward Rashard Lewis will be hosting “Truck Loads of Loveâ€, collecting non-perishable foods and financial contributions at Bill Pierre Ford to benefit Northwest Harvest.
Lewis will be collecting canned food items and accepting monetary donations. With each donation of $10 or 10 food items, fans will receive an autographed photo of Lewis. With a donation of $20 or 20 food items, fans will receive a photo of Lewis and two game tickets (while supplies last).
Northwest Harvest’s wish list includes canned fruit/veggies, canned meats (chicken, tuna, Spam), cereal (hot or cold), pasta, peanut butter and infant/baby foods.
Rashard has set a goal of filling three F-150 Ford trucks collecting 5,000 pounds of food and raising more than $2,500 for Northwest Harvest.
Northwest Harvest is the only statewide hunger relief agency in Washington. In the fiscal year that ended June 30, 2005, NW Harvest secured 18.4 million pounds of food and supplied this food, without fees of any kind, to a network of 300 food banks and hot meal programs that provide over a half a million services each month throughout the state.
