SEATTLE - Seattle SuperSonics General Manager Rick Sund announced today that Ronald "Flip" Murray has signed a one-year qualifying offer to remain with the Sonics.

"We’re excited to have Flip back next season," said Sund. "He adds explosiveness to our backcourt and is versatile enough to play both guard positions. In his two-plus years with the Sonics, Flip has been a prolific scorer and possesses one of the league’s best crossover dribbles."

Last season, Murray’s third in the NBA, he averaged 7.0 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game in 49 games.

He was originally acquired by the Sonics on Feb. 20, 2003 from the Milwaukee Bucks along with Ray Allen, Kevin Ollie and a conditional first-round draft choice.
