When I was young, I had a great coach who instilled in me the ideas that losing sucks, but if you have to lose, loose with pride, go down in flames. Tonight the Sonics did just that. Going against the team with the best record in the league, and arguably one of the best teams in the league, the Sonics showed they can hang. Unfortunately Fred Flintstone's body double Mehmet "Unibrow" Okur hit a tough shot to win a tight game. Honestly, I like my chances more often than not in that identical scenario.
Had Ray Allen played well in more than just the 4th quarter the Sonics with this one. The Sonics primary weakness was again their bench. If things continue on like this much longer the Sonics are absolutely going to have to bring someone in to bolster their bench. Another area the Sonics lost this game was on the boards. Utah took 9 more shots and made 8 more baskets. Utah had 9 more rebounds. Without a huge advantage in FT's for the Sonics, the score would've been ugly.
