If any of you readers are at all like me, you have been eager to see some basketball lately. This weekend affords the opportunity to see quite a bit. Tonight (Friday) at 10 pm, Team USA will take on Puerto Rico in the FIBA World Championship series opener from Japan; you can catch it on ESPN2.

Of special interest to us Sonic faithful will be the game between France and Argentina on FSN at noon tomorrow. Petro made the final cut over a more experienced French Center, and Gelabale is a regular in the rotation. For most of us, it would be the first time to see him play. Tony Parker is out because of injury, which may open up more minutes for Gelabale in the backcourt. The Championships continue over the next few days, so there will be many opportunities to see the different teams. Also the Storm are on Sunday at 2 pm on ESPN2 in game two of their playoff series.
