12/2/07 Box Score: Sonics 96 Warriors 109

The unofficial box score from tonight's game and PopcornMachine's GameFlow.

GSW was so hot in the first quarter that the scoreboard caught on fire! (it was a spot light that caught on fire and delayed the game for 15 minutes). Unfortunately after spotting the Warriors a big first quarter lead, the Sonics were unable to dig themselves out of that hole.

Kevin Durant's shot was so off he even shanked a dunk late in the game. Chris Wilcox led the way with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Jeff Green contributed 13 points and 8 boards.

The only reason the score was as close as it was is the sizable free throw advantage the Sonics had. GSW took 103 shots - 16 more shots than the Sonics took.

If you haven't been following the Warriors, they have been white hot since Stephen Jackson returned to GSW from his suspension. Jackson was +27 in +/- tonight. The Warriors are 8-1 with him on the floor, only having lost to the Celtics during that run.

Quotable PJ:

"They're an excellent offensive team. It was too easy," Seattle coach P.J. Carlesimo said. "We need to play a lot better and a lot harder than we did tonight. The one thing that has probably been our most consistent trait has been effort. We've not played well a number of times, but we've played hard. It was difficult to find guys playing hard tonight."
