4/9/07 Box Score: Sonics 90 Rockets 95

The unofficial box score from tonight's game and PopcornMachine's GameFlow.

Yet another rock solid loss. It took Shane Battier's constant harassment to derail Rashard Lewis. Though Lewis was able to still score 20 points, he did it on 6 of 24 shooting, and was clearly harassed by Battier, especially late in the game.

Nick Collison had a hard (Flagrant) foul on Yao Ming that I thought was a good hard foul gone bad. Bodies got tangled, but I don't think Nick appeared intent on harming Yao. It only seemed to serve to piss off Yao, who then went on a tear, but I think it was a good foul. T-Mac then acted like a punk on a playground pushing Nick. That was weak T-Mac.

In the end, the Sonics lost the game on poor shooing, or more properly stated, Houston won the game with solid defense. The Rockets are still a piece away from being elite, but they are definitely a much improved team. If Yao and T-Mac can stay healthy they are a very tough match up for many teams.

Random thoughts: It sounds like Bonzi Wells is still nutz. Rashard Lewis passed Shawn Kemp on the Sonics' career scoring list. Any point guards standing near the Sonics bus in the next few days might get a shot at seeing time on the floor with the way things are going. Word is that Brian Robinson has been wearing his old skool Adidas to the games - just in case.

Plus/Minus
A fairly narrow band of +/- for the Sonics. Andre Brown was +2 in roughly 5 minutes. Rashard Lewis and Chris Wilcox were both +1. Mickael Gelabale was -9 as the lowest on the Sonics.

Help Value (hv=Reb+Ast+Blk+Stl-TO)
Mike Wilks led the team at +11, which I believe might be the first time in his time with the Sonics to lead the team. Nick Collison was +10.
