"Sonicsgate: Requiem for a Team" National TV Premiere on CNBC

TONIGHT!  Friday, April 27 at 10:00 P.M. Eastern / 7:00 P.M. Pacific

Repeats Sunday, April 29 at 10:00 P.M. Eastern / 7:00 P.M. Pacific

Unlike the two-hour Online Director's Cut of the film released in 2009, which was only available for free streaming on YouTube and Vimeo, the new 2012 re-cut will be made available for purchase on DVD after the April 27 premiere on the newly launched website www.sonicsgate.com.

"Sonicsgate: Requiem for a Team" explores how a perfect storm of corporate greed and political impotence caused Seattle's 41-year NBA team to be ripped away in 2008, when it relocated to Oklahoma City and became the Thunder.  Despite a loyal fan base fighting to save the Sonics in a strong basketball market, Seattle ultimately lost its only major professional sports team to win a championship, becoming the latest casualty of the sports-industrial complex.
