Safeco Stadium Parking Taxes for Transit!

Here is a solution for the transportation problem the Mariners are saying they are concerned with. The state could give the Safeco parking tax back to the city of Seattle to be used for the free downtown bus zone. The free bus zone funding was cut by Metro last year.
Extend the free ride zone to the Stadium District.
“They’re stealing $200,000 from us,” he [city councilman Richard Conlin] told PubliCola. Those are strong words coming from Conlin, not a guy prone to hyperbole. That's $200,000 in city parking taxes currently redirected to Safeco that could be used to solve the Mariners traffic problem.

If the Mariners are really worried about traffic then they would support a solution that doesn't create a new tax.

You are welcome.
