Jesus Shuttlesworth To Suit Up In Actual NBA Game?

The NBA is considering allowing nicknames on jerseys for a game.

Instead of working on my book like I should be I was surfing around through some NBA news, looking to see who was "in the best shape of their life" and came across this gem from nba.com.

That's right people! Shuttlesworth could actually be on a jersey this season when the Miami Heat and Brooklyn Nets play each other this season. Which of the four games hasn't been confirmed yet, but it appears that it is going to be happening. Instead of James we'll have King James, instead of Wade, we'll have Three, instead of Pierce we'll have The Truth and so on down the line.

"It shows growth in our league and it shows we do adapt to what's going on around us," said Allen, the Heat guard who plans to wear Shuttlesworth on his jersey, a nod to his character from the "He Got Game" film. "And we're still kids, playing a kids' game. Even though we're now men playing a kids' game, we still remember where we come from. Everybody had a nickname and it's a way to let the fans in a little bit more."

I'm stoked to buy a Jesus Shuttlesworth jersey if this does in fact come to pass.

Please feel free to go about the rest of your Monday night. I am going to continue to not do whatever it is that I should be doing.
