Tomorrow is Free Agency Day, which makes today Free Agency Eve. The night have magic and rumors and sugar plums and endless speculation from multiple sources.
With the big three all opting out, is it over in Miami? Or are they retooling to bring on a fourth musketeer? Perhaps Carmelo Anthony?
Melo does not currently have the Heat on his docket, as he is scheduled to meet with the Chicago Bulls tomorrow and the Dallas Mavericks and Houston Rockets on Wednesday. He has said he expects to have a decision the second week of July.
The Phoenix Suns are reportedly trying to make moves to acquire both Anthony and LeBron James. Phoenix has roughly $37 million in cap space, plus a lot of assets that could be enticing in a sign-and-trade deal. They also have a lot of young talent that could be appealing to James and Anthony.

UPDATE 10:40 AM: LeBron James wants a max contract, according to multiple sources. He took a pay cut to get the Big Three together and now he wants to make up for it. This basically eliminates any chance of a Big Four in Miami.
UPDATE 11:50 AM: The Cavs are headed to New Jersey to offer Kyrie Irving a max contract, according to Eye On Basketball's Royce Young.
UPDATE 12:03 PM: Pau Gasol met with the Lakers this morning and is scheduled to meet with the Oklahoma City Thunder, Chicago Bulls and Golden State Warriors later this week.
UPDATE 12:25 PM: Reports out of Orlando are that E'Twaun Moore will opt out and become an unrestricted free agent. One name that has come up to possibly replace him is that of Seattle native Rodney Stuckey.
UPDATE 2:02 PM: The Orlando Magic have waived point guard Jameer Nelson, making him an unrestricted free agent.
UPDATE 2:35 PM: The Memphis Grizzlies have decided not to extend a qualifying offer to forward Ed Davis, making him an unrestricted free agent.
UPDATE 3:00 PM: The Orlando Magic have claimed Willie Green off of waivers from the Los Angeles Clippers. Also, the Detroit Pistons have declined their team option on Chauncey Billups. He will most likely retire.
UPDATE 3:46 PM: Vince Carter is apparently still relevant in the NBA. In addition to the incumbent Mavericks, Carter has also been shown interest from the Heat, Thunder, Blazers, and Raptors.
UPDATE 4:36 PM: Jordan Crawford has been released from his contract with the Golden State Warriors.
UPDATE 4:49 PM: According to Sportsnet's Michael Grange, Kyle Lowry will stay with the Toronto Raptors, stating that a new contract is "as good as done."
UPDATE 7:32 PM: Orlando Pinstriped Post is reporting that the Magic may make a ploy for Detroit's Greg Monroe, who is a restricted free agent.
UPDATE 10:08 PM: Free agency has officially begun. Among many other rumors, former Sonics assistant Dwayne Casey is interested in reuniting with Rashard Lewis in Toronto. Rashard has also seen interest from the Spurs, who have likewise shown interest in Sebastian Telfair, who played last year in China. Also, the Lakers are now on Carmelo Anthony's schedule, he will be meeting with them on Thursday. The Lakers also have interest in Chandler Parsons, as do the Mavs and Bulls. The LA Clippers are looking for an upgrade at SF and have reached out to the agents of Luol Deng and Trevor Ariza. The Boston Celtics were the first team to inquire about Seattle native Isaiah Thomas, and the Heat have followed suit.
