Hall of Fame point guard and former Seattle Supersonic legend, Gary Payton is reportedly up for consideration for an assistant coaching spot for the Los Angeles Lakers.
Gary Payton, a candidate for Bucks coaching staff, is also a candidate for Lakers staff under likely new head coach Byron Scott.

The job would be under the yet to be hired and former Laker great, Byron Scott. It was reported a couple weeks ago that Gary Payton was in Vegas having dinner with now Milwaukee Bucks head coach Jason Kidd and working with their players.
Kidd and Payton are both friends going back to their days as youth players in their hometown of Oakland, CA and naturally a pairing of the two on the bench in Milwaukee would make some sort of sense. Payton did play for a Lakers team in 2003 that included another star free agent signing in Karl Malone to pair up with Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal.
