NHL expansion to Seattle may not be imminent due to the arena situation, but one thing is clear. The Emerald City is still very much in the national hockey conversation.
According to an article at the New York Post, there is one very big NHL personality that wants to help bring the dropping of the puck to Seattle. His name is Wayne Gretzky. Here's how the article begins.
The Gretzky group is one of three looking to bring an NHL franchise to the home of Starbucks, sources said - but each faces an uphill battle in that league Commissioner Gary Bettman has not said the league is ready to expand.

So keep your chin up, everyone. The interest in bringing winter sports to Seattle is still alive and well. Having the Great One in the conversation lends credence to this and can only help.
We just need to get our house in order for the next opportunity. EIS/SEPA reviews? Let's get them done and voted on. Potential arena lawsuits? Bring 'em on, so we can beat them like a drum and put 'em behind us.
I thiink good things are in store for us and it might not take as long as we think.
