This is not pleasant to hear for Seattle, but Adam Silver told Husky great and retired NBA player Eldridge Recasner that expansion is not on the table. Recasner documented the exchange in the following tweets.

If we are to take Mr. Silver at his word and if nothing unforeseen happens on the relocation front, then there is no longer a doubt. Whether the victorious arena proposal is in SoDo, Bellevue, or Tukwila, an NHL-first option is now mandatory for success.
