Ray Bartoszek tells Sonics Rising that he hasn't given up on bringing the NHL to Tukwila.
In light of December news reports that he was on the verge of removing his hat from the NHL and arena rings due to a lack of a major investor for the proposal, we asked him if he was still on the project.
His response: "Do you recall what Mark Twain said when he read his own obituary in the Sunday newspaper?"
Our response to his response: "The rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated?"
His response to our response to his response: "Exactly."
So does that mean the options on the land were extended? Does that mean he has found an investor or is close to it? He didn't elaborate, so we don't know.
But he and his proposed arena are apparently still in the game.
