Jose Calderon | PG | Russell Westbrook |
Monta Ellis | SG | Thabo Sefolosha |
Shawn Marion | SF | Kevin Durant |
Dirk Nowitzki | PF | Serge Ibaka |
Samuel Dalembert | C | Kendrick Perkins |
Injuries: The Thunder are completely healthy with Russell Westbrook back, but the Mavericks will be without Devin Harris (foot), Shane Larkin (ankle), and Brandon Wright (shoulder).
The last time these teams met: The Thunder edged out the Mavericks by 6 points last March when the two teams met in Dallas last season. Russell Westbrook led the charge with 35 points and 6 assists.
Story: Westbrook and Durant are reunited and it feels so good, while on the other side Dirk is primed and ready to return to his elite status of two seasons ago, averaging 20 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists through 4 games. Kevin Durant is looking for his fourth consecutive scoring title this season and to help him along the way, he has decided to steal a little something from Dirk: his patented one - legged fadeaway.
Durant via ESPN's Tim MacMahon
"I just tried it one day when I was working out in the summer. It was rougher than I thought it was going to be, so it took me some time to figure it out, but I think I'm doing all right with it."
History watch: The Matrix (Shawn Marion) has 1,647 career steals and needs just two more to pass Charles Barkley (1,648) for 21st place on the NBA's all-time steals list.
Prediction: Durant shows off his "new" move Dirk. The two will both score in the 30's, but KD's squad will come out on top.
Thunder: 101, Mavericks: 94
