Let me tell you why I am rooting for a Sonics return.

I am a eastern Washington native, born and raised. My family didn't visit Seattle often, about half the year the mountain pass was covered in snow which made my desert dwelling family nervous. We saw the occasional Mariner game in person, but Seahawks an Sonics games where a spectacle reserved only to TV. When I moved up to Seattle I was stoked to get to watch my first games live an in the midst of the roaring crowd. There's nothing like getting to watch a sports game with fans who are passionate for their team. There was only one problem.

I moved to Seattle in 2008.

I never got the chance to see a Sonic's game live. I never got the chance to root with passionate fans. I never got the chance to maybe someday become one myself. That was taken away from me, like so many others. This is why I have followed this from day one. This is why I follow the news religiously, and attend rallies, and wear green and gold. Because someday, I know we'll all get our chance to be fans again. And I can't wait.

Bring 'em home, CH! There's a new generation waiting to join the last one.
