King County Excecutive Dow Constantine weighs in on Seattle Arena FEIS

Executive Constantine acknowledged that the completion of the FEIS was an important milestone in the quest to bring the NBA and NHL back to Seattle.

King County Executive  and long time proponent of the proposed SoDo arena Dow Constantine, released a statement today following the release of the highly anticipated Final Environmental impact statement, per Chris Daniels of King 5 News.

County Executive on release of Environmental Impact Statement for proposed SoDo arena:

King County Executive Dow Constantine today issued the following statement in regard to the city of Seattle's Final Environmental Impact Statement on the proposal to build an arena in Sodo.

"It's too soon to tip off or drop the puck, but we're another step closer to bringing the NBA and NHL back to King County.

"There are still many pieces that need to fall into place, but today we've reached another important milestone. It's encouraging to see the environmental analysis that the traffic impacts can be minimized and managed with a number of identified measures to improve circulation. Also, mobility options are abundant at this location, with light rail, Sounder commuter rail, auto and pass anger ferries, numerous bus lines, two interstate freeways, and a state highway."
