Holiday Party for Sonics Family

I hope that you will join Shawn Kemp, Slick Watts, Kevin Calabro and I, along with a bunch of our friends to just celebrate being a fan.

December 20th at 8pm we will open the door to the general public.

After years of being committed to the project and the process I am back to being committed to the ride and the good times. This could be one of those special nights.

Thanks always to all the friends I have made along the way. Sonics fans are the tightest community in professional sports and I’m looking forward to seeing everybody.

What’s really cool is that, according to the facebook post, the Sonics Dance Team will be there. Given that the Sonics don’t even exist at the moment, it’s great to see that members of the Dance Team still feel that team connection.

We know that the abduction of the Sonics has not meant the end of Sonics fans. It’s a bit more surprising that is has not meant the end of the Sonics Dance Team either — surprising, but good to hear.

Or maybe the dance team members are not doing this out of sentiment, but because somebody’s paying them. It’s still great to see that someone’s doing THAT, paying for dancers for a team that does not exist currently. (Emphasis on “currently” — we need a northwestern metaphor here, because to say that the Sonics will be reborn like a phoenix, or that the South shall rise again, just doesn’t fit.)
