Week ten of the Fantasy Basketball season starts in 2015 and ends in 2016.....crazy huh? Anyway, the season is flying by fast and its really time to trim the dead weight from our rosters and there's no time like week ten to get this done! This is what I have this week.
The Phoenix Suns are the only NBA team with five games on the schedule this week.
Teams with four games this week are the Chicago Bulls, Charlotte Hornets, Dallas Mavericks, Denver Nuggets, Golden State Warriors, Indiana Pacers, Los Angeles Clippers, Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, Milwaukee Bucks, Minnesota Timberwolves, Orlando Magic, Philadelphia 76ers, Toronto Raptors, Utah Jazz and Washington Wizards.
The Boston Celtics and Memphis Grizzlies each have two games this week.
Week Ten Waiver Wire Options
Center: Bismack Biyombo has been a rebounding machine since Jonas Valanciunas went out with an injury. Over his past five games he's averaging 15.8 rebounds a game to go along with 2.6 blocks and 6.6 points playing 33.8 minutes per night. Valanciunas is set to return and even though that will cut into Biyombo's minutes if I needed rebounds I would strongly consider adding him to the roster in week ten. The Raptors have four games this week and Biyombo is available in just over 60 percent of all Major Fantasy Basketball leagues.
Point Guard/Shooting Guard: Jeremy Lin continues to get court time and over the past five games is averaging 16.6 points, 4.4 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.2 triples while playing 33.2 minutes a night. He's also shooting 47 percent from the field and 76 percent from the line during that five game stretch. The Hornets roster is starting to get healthier which would normally mean less minutes for Lin but with Jeremy Lamb struggling I would expect to see Lin getting 25 minutes a night. The Hornets have four games this week and Lin is available in just over 50 percent of all Major Fantasy Basketball leagues.
Power Forward/Center: Over the past five games Jordan Hill has been putting up some solid numbers that includes two double doubles. During that five game stretch he's averaging 11.8 points and 8.8 rebounds with one assist playing just 23 minutes a night. He's also shooting 64 percent from the field and 83 percent from the line during that same five game stretch. At some point Hill should move into the starting lineup and if that happens his playing time should increase meaning more opportunities. The Pacers have four games this week and Hill is available in just over 60 percent of all Major Fantasy Basketball leagues.
Small Forward: Gerald Green is good for two things; scoring points and knocking down threes. Over the past five games he's been knocking down nearly 3 triples per night and scoring 15.6 points per game. He'll also get the occasional assist, rebound and steal but it's the three point potential that makes him an appealing addition. He also shot over 50 percent from the floor but only 57 percent from the line during that five game stretch but those things don't worry me so much. The Heat have four games this week and if he can knock down 8-10 triples in week ten he'll be worth the lack of production in the other scoring categories. Green is available in just over 65 percent of all Major Fantasy Basketball leagues.
Point Guard/Shooting Guard: Over the past five games Darren Collison has been balling to the tune of 15.4 points, 3 rebounds and 5.8 assists. Over that same five game stretch he's shooting 60 percent from the field and 72 percent from the line. He's also knocking down 1.4 triples and played 32 minutes a night coming off of the Sacramento Kings bench. Collison has also played quite a bit alongside Rajon Rondo and the two seem to thrive together playing 338 minutes together already this season so at some point maybe George Karl will start both point guards together. In the meantime Collison is still a great add, the Kings have three games this week and Collison is available in just over 50 percent of all Major Fantasy Basketball leagues.
Power Forward/Center: I really like the Nuggets Nikola Jokic and with the Nuggets having four games this week what's not to like about someone averaging 8 points and 5 boards this season? Okay not so much but over his past five games Jokic is averaging 10.8 points and 7 rebounds with a couple of assists playing 23.4 minutes a night. He also shot 64 percent from the floor and 81 percent from the line during that same five game stretch. He's a great Daily Fantasy Sports value pick and a terrific deep league option especially with four games this week and us available in just over 85 percent of all Major Fantasy Basketball leagues.
Point Guard: Jameer Nelson is the man running the point for the Nuggets and with Head Coach Mike Malone stating that Emanuel Mudiay won't be returning "anytime soon" grabbing Nelson for this week might not be a bad idea. Over his past 4 starts Nelson is averaging 11.3 points, 3.3 rebounds and 6 assist playing 30 minutes a night including just under 2 triples a night. During that same stretch of games Nelson is shooting 47 percent from the floor and 83 percent from the line. Nelson might not be the best point guard out there but he's far from the worst and with the Nuggets having four games this week the 75 percent available Nelson might be a good add this week.
Good luck this week Fantasy Basketball Owner!
