Felt we were getting a little bit mean spirited in that last thread. So going to change things up a bit and we’re going to talk about nice things. No, we’re not going to do the whole kittens and puppies.
Let Sacramento talk all the trash they want about us right now. We’re in the lead, they are a mess and don’t know what’s going on. They are going to trash talk us, try to pull us down to their level. Don’t go to StR, ignore them on Twitter.
More like…
and this…
and we’ll end with this…
Unicorns and rainbows. Snips, snails and puppy dog tails. Sugar, spice and everything nice.
Hope that’s more positive.
The old adage, “If you don’t have anything nice to say, then don’t say anything at all,” will severely limit responses to this thread. :)
I figured I should change my gravatar for this thread enjoy when it changes. I know Im an a-hole and progressives may not be happy with it especially if they like marine life a whole lot (not that I dont I love sea life)

I don’t know that either fanbase can be sure they know what’s really going on.
I agree that we shouldn’t read their websites or get into fights, though.
Kevin, I LOVE the Wenatchee valley. It is beautiful.
That said, once our NBA team is secured and it becomes time to truly debate which city in Washington gets an NBADL team, just count on Wenatchee getting “hansened” by Yakima. :)
Learning from our history has allowed me to see when it’s being repeated. This has been over for a while now.
When it comes to not reading their websites, I think if, as you’ve said, you’re “concerned about the groupspeak”, then opting not to avail yourself of the opposition viewpoint and using your own educated judgment to discern when they have viable information as opposed to bitter junk and empty hopes is somewhat contradictory.
As for not fighting, that should be a given; the Internet tough guy routine is ridiculous and only makes those participating look foolish.

So wait, do I understand this correctly?
They now have a new “whale” that will be the potential owner?
And no one knows his excact worth, financially?
And they won’t use the same financing model for the arena(parking) like they tried last time?
All of this under one month before the BOG voting?
This seems pretty strange to me and doesn’t really makes any sense.
Burkle would have to inject himself into the ownership pod in some way for this to even remotely have a chance.
Still I think best scenario for CH is for the arena plan to fall apart at this stage before April 3rd. That would be quickest way to unanimous BOG approval.
New whale sounds like he wants a play thing more than anything. We aren’t sure what his worth is or if he will bid more. 206er (I think) hit te nail on the head wondering why mastrov would now pay the same amount for less ownership and not be the lead (assuming the new guy is adding to the last attempt). I’ll just defer for now to sac and say maybe this ownership guy is better and the arena will work…since we are in the nice thread….
I must be the only one that thinks yesterday was a positive for sac in gaining another investor, a lead one at that, and by not meeting a self imposed deadline really means nothing? I wouldn’t mind another investor coming along, and deciding to plop down another 100 mil in private money for the arena.
Maybe, but again how is this going to up the bid? I guess if Mastrov wants in then maybe, but if you look at what has been said, he would put the same amount of money in for a lower percentage of the team? So basically Mastrov is spending the same amount of money for less and not having as big a say in things. I just think it seems strange. I don’t think this new guy gives a damn about Sac but just wants to be on the top of the card and have a play thing. I suppose that is a lot of owners, but it isn’t as if this guy is some white knight he is being made out to be.
And missing self-imposed deadlines is a red flag in that the BOG would say how do we know you will actually complete this thing. But maybe it doesn’t make one bit of difference.
I guess I feel like then they know something we don’t then, and why they would even mess with adding a new guy if they didn’t feel like it would give them some sort of an advantage, makes no sense. Seems like a big headache to go through, in order to remain in the same boat, without any benefits, or progress.
Oh, and if you haven’t noticed, I’m a pessimist. Things generally don’t go my way, with bad luck, etc. I just find it easier to be pessimistic about things, and by doing so make things that much better when they do accidentally go my way, lol. Building up for a big let down sucks many times over. Case in point, being a seattle sports fan. Ouch. I’ve wrote the M’s off over a decade ago, and don’t see them ever doing anything, other than a farm team for teams like NY. My cougs have never really done anything. I’d rather them drop down a div in order to be competitive for an actual trophy before I die in 40 or so years.
That is the Seattle way ;) I would say this could be this guy positioning himself a la Ballmer did, but then again that is jus as much speculation as everything else.
It’s a move for the long term, not the short. Setting themselves up for the next team.
