Whale Watching Open Thread

So there is allegedly some whales to be spotted in Sacramento tonight. Living in the Pacific Northwest we all know there are a ton of whales up here to go watch. I’ve done it numerous times. I’ve seen Orcas, Gray Whales, Pilot Whales and numerous other types of whales.

So instead of waiting for a whale to show up in our city. Here is a list of tours that you can go take to see the whales.

Victoria Clipper — If you are on your way to Victoria, definitely pay the extra few bucks to see the Orcas. It is so worth it.

San Juan Excursions - - Did this tour the day I got engaged. Was a total blast!

Westport Gray Whale — I was probably about 12 when I first did this and it was awesome! The whales got so close to the boat you could literally touch them. Have you touched a Gray Whale?

Update:
We have obtained a drawing of what Sacramento expects to turn into the NBA Board of Governors for their arena proposal.

It is expected some time next week that Sacramento Mayor, Kevin Johnson, will name a team of physicists and other scientists that will make the floating, whale castle arena thingy possible.

  1. zakk: Yeah but Sacramento has been going through this for the last few years. I’ve actually heard they’ve been going through the arena talk for the last 10 years or so, that’s way longer than we got. The NBA tried to keep the team there but it simply didnt work out. If the kings were gonna stay I dont think Stern and the NBA would have allowed it to get this far.

Sac was screwed by really bad ownership. I suppose thats what franchises and fans should be worried about, how strong the ownership is. That is another reason why I think the NBA will approve the Hansen/Balmer deal.

  2. Kevin - - BRAVO !! The pic of the whale castle with the promise of a KJ arena thingy -
Don’t know where you found it - - - but that is an absolute instant classic.

I wonder what the Sac folks think of it.

  3. If the 25 millionaires fail in their bid for the 7 percent wouldnt that mean that point #1 of KJ’s 4 point plan failed. That the 25 million he raised would exposed for the dog and pony show we all knew it was (excuse to have press conferences to help turn tide after sale announcement). Like #herebuy saying they sold 5,000 season ticket, which meant millions of fake dollars. I bet even it they kept the team they would get less than half of those pledges. This is fake money we’re talking about

Meanwhile Hansen/Ballmer have ALREADY spent millions. On land. On lawyers. Money to Maloofs. On arena designs.

No one has spent a dime in sac. Burkle and Mastrov and the 25 millionaires and here buy are all pledges and wont spend a dime unless the deal is struck down.

That is why i am confident we will win out

  4. miltonbradley320: Don’t see how. Both Hansen’s PSA and the $30 million were submitted with the express knowledge by Hansen that they could be denied. He could take at trip to court and he’d be thrown out of it just as fast as he showed up. And on top of that any chance for an expansion team or the next available team would be gone. So pray he’s smarter than that.

I believe he said ”tampering” with the PSA. The BoG rejecting the sale/relo doesn’t qualify as tampering. If you’re talking about outside parties attempting to undercut the signed PSA, then yes, a trip to court is in order. SERIOUSLY doubt that would happen. They wouldn’t be that stupid.
